沿着波茨当路一带的地段是一片名为威塞克斯，宁静且又绮丽的郊区。被翠绿盎然的林木覆盖着，环境格外清幽怡人，稀稀落落散布着富有英格兰风格的豪宅、楼阁与大小洋房，迥然别有洞天。

在殖民地时代，这景色诱人的庄园是英国士兵及其家属们的温馨家园。而现今此处的房屋主要是外籍租户的寓所以及一些将房屋用为工作和展示空间的视觉艺术家、设计师和建筑师。

在这个美丽庄园中的惠特彻奇路，有一家历史悠久名为 Colbar 的英式餐厅。Colbar 是 Colonial Bar 的缩写，意思是殖民地酒吧。当初它是为英国士兵建造的酒吧食堂。 Colbar 现在是一间向公众开放的咖啡店，说的正确一点应该是一家富有古早味的英式餐厅，座落于淡雅的英式建筑物内，它那简单的招牌、单色的吧台和白色墙壁，朴实的设计和装潢多年来从没改变。

这古老的英式餐厅至今还依然沿用着往日的原始菜单提供全天可享用的古早味英式早餐以及炸鱼和薯条、洋茶、咖啡，还有各种冷饮和啤酒。

溧花从侧面的角度以油彩描绘这所位处幽美大自然环境中，充满历史痕迹，曾经是英军士兵们喜欢光顾的酒吧食堂，成功彩绘出一幅扣人心弦的怀旧好作品。

The Wessex Estate along Portsdown Road is covered by lush greenery, a scenic suburban area with unique serenity scattered by British colonial styles of architectures. Houses in this scenic suburb were sweet cozy homes for the British soldiers and their families during the colonial days.

The current residents of this area are tenanted expatriates and some visual artists, designers and architects who use these houses as their studios and gallery space.

There is a small dining place by the name of ‘Colbar’, an abbreviation for “Colonial Bar” located at Whitchurch Road in this beautiful suburb. Originally it was built as a bar and canteen for the British soldiers. Colbar is now a coffee shop or rather an old British style eatery that opens to public in a vintage colonial style building with simple signboard, mono-coloured bar counter and white walls. The rustic simple design and decoration remained unchange since the very beginning.

The eatery’s menu is still like the olden days that consists of English style all day breakfast as well as fish and chips, tea and coffee, a variety of cold drinks and beers.
